The new Arlington County Group Home is a multi-bedroom home providing a primary and permanent residence for up to five adults with development disabilities in the Arlington County area. The new home replaced the existing county-owned property located at 1212 S. Irving Street, which was a 5,000 sf detached three-level single family group home.
The new home is fully accessible and contains five bedrooms, including two with master bedroom and accessible bathroom design, two with a common shared accessible bathroom, and one with access to an accessible hall bathroom. The design includes accessible closets in all bedrooms.
This project has been designed to Net Zero Ready standards using Viridiant’s Earth Craft Residential Net Zero program. Sustainable features include a solar panel array across the entirety of the roof.
