The new Arlington County Group Home provides a permanent, fully accessible residence for adults with developmental disabilities, replacing an aging county-owned facility at S. Irving Street. Designed to support residents throughout their lives, the home includes five bedrooms, accessible bathrooms, open communal living areas, and barrier-free circulation to promote independence, comfort, and community living. Sustainable design strategies were implemented through Viridiant's EarthCraft Residential Net Zero program and include geothermal heating and cooling, energy recovery ventilation, high-performance building systems, and a rooftop solar array. Interface provided MEP and fire/life safety engineering services for the project.
